More than half (54 percent) of large U.S. businesses that reduced staff in the past 12 months plan to rebuild their workforces to pre-recession levels within two years, according to a study released today by Accenture.
With Facebook and other social media sites, companies can find out a whole lot more about their applicants than what their résumés and references might reveal.
But should they look?

As we continue to see signs of an economic recovery, the strength and duration of it remains uncertain. As a result, companies are reluctant to hire permanent employees. The staffing industry is beginning to see an increase in the level of activity as businesses ramp up production and level of service.
