iCIMS Expands Video Vision With Acquisition of Altru Labs
iCIMS acquired Altru Labs, a platform that facilitates and distributes videos made by employees. By incorporating Altru’s solutions into its Talent Cloud, iCIMS said it will be able to offer more dynamic options for communicating with talent. In essence, customers will be able to spice up their career sites with more engaging content.
With Altru’s tools, iCIMS users will be able capture, edit, brand, approve and distribute videos through their corporate websites and social media accounts, and also through email and text. As for Altru’s customers, who are mostly enterprise firms, they’ll be able to connect to the Talent Cloud to manage their talent acquisition efforts.
iCIMS CEO Steve Lucas said that employee-generated video will offer customers a new way to approach talent. “We’re leaning in on technology that is critical to HR transformation and modern talent acquisition,” he said.
The acquisition caps a busy quarter for iCIMS. Barely a month ago, it bought the French user experience firm EasyRecrue. A month before that, the company consolidated its products into a single platform and relaunched itself as iCIMS Talent Cloud.
Phenom Strengthens Presence in Europe
Phenom also announced an acquisition, of Endouble, an Amsterdam-based firm that focuses on candidate experience. The company said the deal expands its presence in Europe while encouraging further adoption of its Talent Experience Management platform.
The acquisition is Phenom’s second. In October, the company purchased My Ally, whose automation technology focuses on interview scheduling. At the time, CEO Mahe Bayireddi said the deal demonstrated how Phenom would execute on a growth strategy based on “constant innovation.” In other words, the company will buy solutions when it makes more sense to do so than develop them in-house.
Previously, Endouble operated as RGF Staffing, an HR service provider. As Endouble, the company said, it’s focused on taking “a data-driven approach to candidate attraction and recruitment strategy.”
In a blog post, Phenom CEO Mahe Bayireddi said Endouble has developed a reputation for using data to optimize recruiting strategies and career sites. “Their team’s commitment to creating authentic experiences for job seekers, as well as the employers they partnered with, reflected ours at Phenom,” he said.
CareerBuilder Upgrades Talent Acquisition Suite
CareerBuilder updated its Talent Acquisition Suite with features meant to help candidates apply to jobs that better match their skills, and to help recruiters identify those job seekers more quickly.
In addition, the company will roll out a dashboard that combines all of CareerBuilder’s analytics in one place. Employers will be able to view the number of candidates delivered within a selected timeframe, identify which solutions contributed to the number of candidates sourced, and track trends over time. Over the next several months, the company plans to release more detailed dashboard pages.
CareerBuilder also said it’s added gamification to encourage candidates to provide profile information on their experience, skills, and goals. Once candidates complete their profile, the system unlocks a list of companies who’ve viewed them.
Randstad RiseSmart announced two solutions that connect employers with qualified talent, internal and external. The first, FirstLook Recruiter Edition, offers talent acquisition teams free searching and sourcing across RiseSmart’s network and aggregates talent across the company’s customer-branded talent directories. The second, FirstLook Enterprise Edition, allows RiseSmart customers to match people to jobs to improve internal mobility and outsourcing.
Technology job board Turing.com announced a $32 million Series B funding round led by WestBridge Capital. Also participating are Foundation Capital, which led Turing’s seed round, Altair Capital, Mindset Ventures, Frontier Ventures, and Gaingels.
CodeSignal closed a $25 million Series B round led by Menlo Ventures. The company will use the money to “launch our next phase of growth” and hire additional team members.
College publisher Her Campus Media unveiled Generation Hired, a platform created for Gen Z folks looking for internships and entry-level positions. Generation Hired will cover industries including finance, marketing, beauty, fashion, technology, and entertainment.
Accenture Strategy & Consulting appointed Christie Smith as a senior managing director to lead the company’s CEO Transformational Change Journey agenda. She’s responsible for expanding the firm’s transformational change offerings around the world. She’ll also lead Accenture’s Inclusion + Diversity practice.
