yotify

So, here is another great tool that I’ve been  using now for a few weeks that I wanted to  share with everyone. It’s called Yotify and it  works as an aggregator or a “scout” as the site  calls it.  Regardless: I like the tool and I have become a pretty big fan of it’s applications over the last couple of weeks. With so much great information available to me, I tend to run into sensory overload far too often.

As a sourcer, a large portion of my job is research and information gathering. I follow leads, RSS, events, industry associations, candidates, candidate blogs, press releases, news feeds, company moves, stock info, job postings both internal and external competitors, groups, reviews, products, technology, speakers, salary guides, housing markets, the economy, and classifieds. And this is just my mornings….yotify1

Enter Yotify. Yotify works on a scout system that watches over your specific requests. Similar to an RSS feed, Yotify tracks and delivers information to you. Track news feeds, candidate blogs, company feeds etc. Because Yotify doubles as a social network you have the opportunity to connect with other recruiters/sourcers to tag on to their scouts and track what they are looking at as well.

So, if you feel the urge to track down some competitors you can take a peek at their feeds and sleuth from their. It’s probably safe to say that their feeds are relevant to your searches and will give you some great internal intelligence you may not have had on target companies and industry candidates.

You can use this platform to connect with others in your industry, collaborate on reviews or simply mind your own feeds and be antisocial…but than again that would be counterproductive.

Are you on Facebook or Friendfeed? You can now sync your accounts to provide updates, invite friends, and connect with even more Yotify users in a vaster social arena.

So, if you have not tried Yotify, I recommend giving it a shot. It’s a great tool to keep in the belt as a sourcer to keep track of your competition and target candidates/companies.

As always feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts after you’ve tried it!
