Generative AI-related job postings in the U.S. jumped about 20% in May, according to new data from Indeed. The report showed that searches for generative AI jobs jumped to 204 per million total jobs searched that month from virtually zero only a year prior.

Employers are expected to hire more workers because of the recent rise of generative AI, according to a study from Upwork. Specifically, 64% of C-Suite leaders said that AI has expanded their future hiring plans. The uptick is beleived to be driven by companies’ need for both new hires and outside specialists to adapt to AI technology. Upwork said that 49% of the survey’s respondents said they will hire more freelancers, while another 49% said the same for full-time workers.

Some 58% of employed workers are actively trying to make a career change, according to the FlexJobs 2023 Spring Work Insights Survey. An additional 25% said they’ve already attempted or successfully made a career change. Behind the numbers: a desire for remote work options (50%), higher pay (48%) and better work-life balance (46%).

HireRight acquired a majority share of Digital Trusted Identity Services, or DTIS, an FBI-approved “channeler” that specializes in the collection and processing of biometric and biographical data. HireRight said the investment will help it expand its biometric-screening services, which the company calls a “critical component” for customers.

SkillGigs, a market for healthcare jobs, launched an employer of record program. The program will make it easier for U.S. employers to hire remote international workers. SkillGigs said it will be the employer of record for a global pool of tech workers, allowing employers to save money, scale quickly and access more specific skillsets.

Gusto launched Gusto Global powered by Remote, which allows customers to pay employees around the world. The service offers domain expertise in botj the U.S. and international payroll in one solution, and includes localized guidance.
