tweet_deck So it took a little while but now that the world is  hooked on twitter, I felt the need to tweet, I mean blog about a fairly new app that has been on the rise. It’s called TweetDeck. It’s been through a ton of modifications to date and is getting better as I type. For me, tweeting is essential. I follow candidates, I communicate with them and I know what they are doing without spending the time on the phone talking to them. It’s always running in my background which slows me down, I miss messages and direct replies, I sometimes get caught up in the searching the darn site before realizing 40 minutes have passed. Sound productive? To an extent, but what if I had an app that could mange all of my traffic, manage my replies, alert me like outlook does with a quick unobtrusive pop up and show it all to me in a 3 column page pristine and easy to read? I’d be rich! (with time)fullscreen

My friends at TweetDeck have done this. Not for me…but for everyone. TweetDeck is an Adobe application in its beta form. It’s been through many versions and is getting better each time. By breaking down all of the feeds you are receiving and displaying them in a 1 page manageable manner, your tweeting experience becomes that much better! The feed display is customizable and can include any number of options to meet your agenda. The columns once added are automatically update as feeds come in. Everything is managed through an easy to navigate dashboard and you can respond and communicate with users simply by clicking their avatar or profile photo.

So the famous question that I always receive: So how does this help me as a recruiter? Well I am not going to go into how to recruit with Twitter. I will save that for another day. TweetDeck however will help to manage the data you are missing. You simply cannot be logged on to twitter or for that matter any network the entire day. TweetDeck will continuously update and track status reports over night as well as allow you to filter tweets through keywords, source and timeframe.

Simple enough. A great tool for the money! (FREE). Check it out and let me know your thoughts!
