HireVue Acquires Modern Hire for Better Talent Experiences

HireVue acquired Modern Hire, the intelligent hiring platform. According to the company, the deal will help organizations better use both companys’ products for assessment, interviewing and end-to-end hiring automation. In addition, HireVue said the acquisition will further its goal of being able to “help all organizations identify employee and candidate potential beyond resumes.”

As part of the transaction, HireVue intends to accelerate the growth of both companies’ technology to create new solutions. As such, they will continue to help organizations to understand and activate a candidate’s potential beyond their background and experience.

“The acquisition of Modern Hire will enable us to continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in hiring technology, by adding to our own best-in-class science, technology and industry expertise,” said HireVue CEO Anthony Reynolds. He described Modern Hire’s team members as being “among the best scientific minds and tech innovators” in the talent acquisition business.

Modern Hire has traditionally been concerned with developing role-based assessments and exploring advanced selection science, and says it’s committed to “creating new and practical ways of measuring and understanding human performance.”

Common Ground

“HireVue shares Modern Hire’s commitment to science, innovation and ethical AI,” said Modern Hire CEO Karin Borchert. The combination of her company with HireVue provides “a tremendous opportunity to rapidly expand hiring solutions for customers and their candidates alike, she said.”

In a statement provided by HireVue, Madeline Laurano, the founder of Aptitude Research, said that “[a]dding Modern Hire’s complementary science-backed solutions further solidifies [HireVue’s] market-leading position and creates a new high water mark for what great enterprise hiring can look like.”

With Modern Hire, HireVue said it will increase its expertise and scale to allow organizations worldwide to build their teams by matching potential to opportunity through a faster and fairer hiring process.  The company’s “ongoing commitment to prioritizing people and skills grows further with this acquisition,” the company said.

Modern Hire was created in 2019 by the combination of Montage and Shaker International, leading hiring technology and assessment providers. Now, it will become part of the HireVue family of solutions.
