What is a Whitepaper?

Today’s conversation with William Tincup and Ryan Leary: We’re doing some hot takes on Whitepapers.

What makes a good whitepaper? First, the shorter the better. The more factual, the better.

People need to be able to use them to make better data-driven decisions.

Whitepapers used to be scientific. Then, the recruiting industry stole the idea and they have morphed into more of an opinion piece. We use them as marketing editorials, loosely disguised as informational.

They need to be based on research and tell people things they don’t know or help them validate things they do know.
