Modern Hire and SmartRecruiters unveiled an integration that will automate submitting both on-demand and live video interviews and assessments.

The partnership provides Modern Hire’s customers with an automated process for submitting material within SmartRecruiters workflows, reducing the administrative chores recruiters face. As candidates progress through the hiring process, recruiters can also view the statuses, links and other data from the SmartRecruiters environment.

Modern Hire integrates with SmartRecruiters in one of two ways. First, automatically, where assessment requests are made to candidates without recruiter intervention. Second is manually, where recruiters directly indicate they want to invite candidates to complete a Modern Hire assessment.

In September, Modern Hire introduced tools designed to personalize the hiring process for everyone involved. The enhancements included a job-preview feature, email templates and an updated UI for recruiters and hiring managers. Earlier in the year, it acquired Sonru, a provider of automated video interviewing technology.

Dusty Woodall, Modern Hire’s vice president of technology, said the integration with SmartRecruiters demonstrated the company’s commitment helping employers improve their hiring and “deliver a personalized and data-driven hiring experience.” Partnerships are “critical” to its mission, he said, “as enabling seamless cross-platform productivity for hiring teams across a wide variety of systems and functions is essential to efficient, effective and fair enterprise hiring.”

During 2020, Modern Hire said 26 million candidates from over 200 countries accessed its platform. The company deployed more than 20 million Virtual Job Tryout assessments, a 51% increase from 2019. The company also saw triple-digit growth in the number of live interviews and on-demand text interviews deployed.
