More than half of U.S. employers plan to add new permanent positions during the first six months of 2024, according to Robert Half. Another 39% anticipate hiring for vacated positions. More than two-thirds (67%) expect to hire contract workers as part of their staffing strategy. However, finding the right talent may not be easy. Some 90% of hiring managers report difficulty finding skilled professionals, and 58% said it takes longer to hire for open roles compared to a year ago.

HireRight released its new global identity verification solution, Global ID, which is designed to help companies remotely verify the authenticity of their candidates’ identity documents.

Hiring for remote workers has been steadily declining of late, and experts expect the trend to continue into 2024, reports SHRM. The report said remote job postings have dropped to the lowest share of new job postings in the last three years. Between January 2022 and August 2023, the proportion has fallen from 21% to 9%.

Despite economic uncertainty and the rise of AI, hourly workers are confident about their job prospects. The majority are not only optimistic about their ability to switch jobs easily or grow in their current position (51%), said the payments platform Branch. They’re also unconcerned about AI’s possible impact on their work (56%).

iCIMS appointed Jason Edelboim as chief executive officer, effective January 2, 2024. Edelboim brings nearly two decades of experience in data, technology and enterprise software. He previously held leadership roles at Dataminr, Cision and PR Newswire.

HireVue appointed Walker Ellis as chief revenue officer. The appointment of Ellis as CRO also comes just after the company announced the new hiring category, Human Potential Intelligence, and its application, Find My Fit.

The Muse hired Chris Atkins, former CMO at PandoLogic, to be senior vice president of B2B Marketing.
