Technology is making hiring more human. Which may sound a little odd, since “hiring” often evokes images of referrals and interviews. But consider the current state of hiring technology: a company might have 2 million résumés sitting in its ATS and not be able to see if any of them—all previous candidates—might be right for their next hiring need. Lever discovered the typical ATS is often perceived as a black hole: “Referrals are too important, we don’t put them in our ATS,” said one hiring manager. Which is why Leela, who has worked at LinkedIn, OpenTable, and Bain & Company, and is now CMO of Lever, is so excited about what Lever is doing: taking a new approach to mining talent that is candidate-centric and collaborative.
In this episode of Resonate you will hear:
- Why companies that need to scale talent quickly are so excited about Lever (think Lyft and Quora)
- Why social media has made a quality Candidate Experience so much more important for companies (it HAS to now be a “team sport” )
- What it means to make hiring more human… and how technology can help
- The most important type of diversity to hire for
- What it’s like to work at a cutting edge Silicon Valley tech co (the CEO is a woman AND from Google)
- The can’t-miss Italian restaurant in San Francisco Leela and Jason love
