Human Skills + Technology = Better Results
Welcome back to another episode of our podcast series! What’s happening here? At HRTech 2019, Recruiting Daily teamed up with Talemetry to ask our industry leaders where they think hiring is headed in the next 5 years. We’re passing this valuable information on to you by asking each person the same question:
What skills or competencies will we be hiring for in 5 years?
Our last episode featured Doug Berg and Russell Klosk, with a discussion on adaptability, as well as having the ability to synthesize across different tools and data sources. If you missed it, check it out now.
Mike’s answer to our question is that the primary focus of recruiting used to be engaging with candidates. Now we have so many tools, and as a result, recruiters have gotten lazy. What he sees in the future is a sort of augmented HR Professional that can leverage the available tools combined with candidate engagement.
Jess relates that we get so excited about technology, we forget what it’s for. The technology exists to free our time to focus on tasks that only humans can do, like communication and strategy development. We need to remember that technology isn’t the only solution and work on enhancing our communication, creativity, and curiosity.
Tune in to the podcast for more in-depth behind the discussion, as well as their questions for William, including:
- A discussion on the whole world of an ATS and a CRM, what does that tech look like for the future?
- How do we stop the massive underuse of our current workforce? Are we maximizing the people that we have?
Tell us what you think we will be hiring for in 2025.
