Podcast w/John Baldino and Dean Da Costa: The Future of Talent Acquisition & Hiring in 2025

Calculated risks and thinking outside the box

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome back to our podcast series on the future of hiring from HRTech 2019. RecruitingDaily teamed up with Talemetry to ask some of our industry leaders their thoughts on how the landscape will change by 2025. We asked each person the same question:

What skills are you hiring for in 5 years?

Be sure to check out our last episode, where John Hollon and Matthew Stollak gave their insights on flexibility, liberal arts degrees, and becoming generalists. We also get into discussions on the current job market and why people skills and process improvements will trump technology. Check it out here.

For you today, we have John Baldino, President at Humareso, along with Dean Da Costa, Enterprise Sourcing Practice Lead at Lockheed Martin. Let’s hear what they think the hottest and most sought after skills and competencies will be in the year 2025.

So, what did they have to say? John Baldino believes that candidates who can apply critical thinking and take calculated risks are going to be valued, especially in a market where many of the incoming workforce has been shielded from taking risks.

Dean Da Costa agrees and adds that people will need to learn how to connect the dots. He explains that there are so many resources and technologies available, but people don’t know how to make the connection between resources in order to combine and enhance results.

For example, if you have a tool that does A and a tool that does B, perhaps they can be used together for a whole different outcome.  Think outside the box.

Tune in now to hear more, as well as what William thinks will happen to talent acquisition if the economy goes into that promised tailspin. Plus, a discussion on AI and the impact of automation on sourcing and recruiting.
