Indeed users can now add video interviewing options for all jobs—both free and sponsored—that are posted directly to its platform, at no additional charge. The company said the new capability will streamline the hiring process and reduce the time necessary to get candidates to first their interviews.
Even though some job seekers remain hesitant to take up new positions as the pandemic recedes, Indeed’s research suggests this lack of urgency is temporary. Many job seekers plan to accelerate their job search in the fall, the company said.
“With a mismatch in hiring urgency between employers and job seekers, it is crucial that employers have seamless hiring experiences that allow them to find talent in the right place, and at the right time,” said Indeed Senior Vice President Maggie Hulce. “The pandemic accelerated the use of virtual hiring tools and we’ve leaned into creating solutions to make our technology more collaborative and efficient.”
When employers using Indeed invite candidates to interview, they’re able to access tools that allow them to schedule, manage and conduct video or phone interviews for free. The majority of interviews take place just over two days after they are arranged, Indeed said.
All interviews take place on Indeed’s proprietary Indeed Interview technology. The software works without requiring a download, simplifying its use and making it more convenient. Indeed said it’s hosted more than 500,000 video interviews to date.
In March, Indeed incorporated features to allow employers to manage their hiring process directly on the job board’s platform, without needing additional software or integrations. With the product’s emphasis on automation, the company said it could significantly cut the time necessary to move candidates through an employer’s pipeline.
Indeed described its Hiring Platform as providing an integrated approach to sourcing, screening and video-interview scheduling, eliminating the need for recruiters to handle routine tasks.
